I'll break the ice for the 1st post in the Houston Chapter! I will be installing a new Holley Sniper EFI soon, if anyone want to be a part of the install. No set date yet. Work will be done at my House near Tomball.

That’s what I’ve been thinking about doing to mine. Please keep us updated.

I have one and there's a few considerations you might want to plan for.
My car is a FFR MKIV with the Ron Francis harness that is of course set up for a donor build (late 2018 kit). Shortly after starting to drive the car after installing the motor (BPE that came with the Sniper kit), we started popping the 15A fuse for the fuel pump relay.
It ended up being a larger than stock (88lph is stock for a 5.0L HO) fuel pump coupled with the higher fuel pressure that the Holley requires 58psi whereas the stock 5.0L fuel pressure is about 40psi. Bottom line was that sometimes when the fuel pump would dead-head against the regulator when it reached 58psi, the amps would spike to just over 15 and the fuse would pop.

In the end we just ended up putting a bigger fuse in, but if you are in the build phase and you don't have the body on yet, you would be better off running a slightly larger wire (12 AWG vs 14) back to the fuel pump from that relay. You can get away with doing it like we did, but we only did that because the body was on and painted when we figured this out. A 20A circuit really should have 12AWG wire.

LMK when you are planning to do the install, if I'm open I'll be glad to help.

Thanks for the info about the wire AWG and fuse issues. I will installing this on a Backdraft, the car has had a Quick Fuel carb for years. The carb is over fueling thru the vacuum secondaries causing the motor to run like trash. I have a few other projects that need finishing up and then i will be doing the swap and a new clutch.

I have limited experience with Factory Five and ZERO experience with Backdraft.

Is the pump you are using capable of the higher pressures / flow of the Sniper system over a carburetor? If so, I’d think the installation would be a good bit easier.

James Yale could probably warn you if there are known pitfalls to this combination.

The kit came with a new fuel pump and I will need to run a return line. If the wire AWG is too small worst case I canrun a new wire

I installed FAST EZ on mine last October. It's a different car, you'll love it.IMG_4532.jpeg

I never noticed the Houston Chapter forum here. I've sort of lost touch since the yahoo groups were killed. I don't have facebook.

I'm also in Magnolia. Near Mostin Manor, and a big EFI promotor. Just added a vortech supercharger to my megasquirt EFI

Brian, please step up here and contribute. Not everyone is on FB or wants to be.
