I've owned my ERA 289 FIA for 9 years this coming October. The original owner had it 7 years and put on only 6100 miles. I just turned over 88,000 miles on my way home from this years Spring Fling. This was my third visit and hopefully there will be more to come. This year's ride was very nice, except for Thursday's rain and today's gale force winds and near freezing temperatures going across NM and parts of AZ. Still not as nasty as the snow two years ago in NM.
Before my ERA, I owned a NAF for 13 years but after totaling it the second time, I let my insurance company keep it. It didn't do corners very well but was fine in a straight line. I'd drive it 75 miles to a drag strip, crank off some 10.70s and drive it home. It had a "world's coming to an end" BBC 496 with a turbo hydro and would carry the left front wheel through 2nd gear. Kinda exciting.
I thoroughly enjoy meeting the folks and seeing their cars at the annual meets. Thanks for putting up with a non-Texican.
