Loose “position” knob on my Superformance

This knob has come loose. It slides back into the dash about 1/2”. The entire mounting block behind the dash moves. Has anyone encountered this? It is a recent development and was curious if anyone had a solution.

I am not sure just what the back of your dash is like but if the mounting block is the only problem and it moves back, could you glue it to the back of the dash.
