My friend and I went in on an unfinished Cobra. It was in a shop which caught fire. The rolling chassis is mostly OK, but the rest of the parts burned up. So, no body, interior, seats, wiring, windshield, etc.
It did have an engine and transmission, which my cousin bought for his Torino race car. He will gift us his 1966 428 in exchange. Now, we need to determine how much it will cost to finish. We anticipate buying a lot of parts from FFR, but not all if we can source them elsewhere. My cousin has a windshield from a Lone Star build that we did earlier. He did not use it, so it is available. I need to know if it will work on a FFR frame/body. Another rout we are considering is going with a new FFR base kit since that is most of what we need, and selling the rest. The nice thing about our rolling chassis is that it has IRS and is complete. It also have several Spec-racer mods done by FFR when the frame was built. So, the frame is better then the regular issue version. We need to do a full disassembly and inspection to see if anything got damaged, but it all looks good so far.
Is there anyone who has extra FFR parts? Also, are there vendors who sell the same parts FFR sells? I'm guessing FFR does not make the gas cap, windshields, wiper kits, radiators, etc. They probably do make special-source items such as the carpet, wiring, interior panels, roll bars, etc.
